Why we chose to highlight this story: The solar movement isn't merely aspirational. In Beaver County, thanks in part to The RISE Project, projects in Beaver Falls, New Brighton, Ambridge, and Aliquippa are incorporating solar. These projects are actually saving communities money.

The Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) is a nonpartisan global team that examines issues related to energy markets, trends, and policies. They recently wrote an analysis, which you can read here.

Why we chose to highlight this story: All 67 Pennsylvania counties will recount their ballots because the state senate race is so close.

As of late last week, Dave McCormick led by about 24,000 votes over Democratic incumbent Bob Casey — that's 48.9% to Casey’s 48.5%. Read more about the recounting process from the Trib here.

Why we chose to highlight this video: Check out the second video in the Cornerstone of Beaver County's (TCBC) recently released video series called "Bringing Hope Home," which aims to raise awareness around the issue of homelessness, the complex situations that lead to and stem from homelessness, and the challenges of navigating interventions and solutions. It also aims to shed light on the hope that comes from fostering a deeper understanding of homelessness and moving toward long-term solutions, including affordable housing.
